Professional dedication is a kind of occupational attitude. It is the basic requirements of professional ethics, and the unification of recognition of professional social value and individual value. It is a positive state in pursuing the target value with strong sense of responsibility and duty. Professional dedication is the reflection of social life. With the replacement of social formation, the contradictory motions between social productive forces and productive relationship and the interactive operation between economic infrastructure and superstructure, the meaning of professional dedication is also developing and changing gradually. Difference between eastern and western cultures causes their different spirit connotations. In China, the traditional professional dedication, influenced by traditional Confucian thoughts, mainly represents as loyalty, diligence, devotion, constant, dedication, and so on, but the capitalism professional dedication is the natural notion and asceticism thoughts under the background of capitalism religion. There are different connotations and values between them. Professional dedication is the intrinsic spiritual power of economic development; it promotes the overall development of economic man, and pushes the enterprises'progress and promotion.In modern China, private enterprises as an important part of the market economy, there are serious problems in the employees'attitudes towards professional dedication. The reason lies in the fact that negative factors in traditional values have been impacting on and distorting social members'consciousness and spirit for long term. The supreme orientation of group value ignores the individual and suppresses personality; the idea of valuing loyalty over money criticizes and restricts the pursuit of benefits;valuing morality over talent evaluation standards despises practical technology and speculative reason. At the same time, the problem in professional dedication also derives from the distemperedness of the socialist market economy, so that the system for social equality fall behind the sense of fairness. The private enterprises are lack of guidance for market ethical standards. In addition, the lack of humanist management policy and core values on the internal corporate culture construction, the consciousness conflict between the egoism and altruism and the conflict between trust and faith in the main part of the private enterprises--boss and the staff, all these are the direct causes of the absence of professional dedication. Therefore, in order to solve the problem, firstly we should reverse the negative influence of traditional cultural negative factors, and then build up a value unity of self-interest and collective interest, loyalty and benefit and morality and talent; Secondly we should improve the socialist market economy, perfect social equality system, set up the sense of fairness, conduct private enterprises to invest and manage in the ethical standards; Thirdly we should establish core values of enterprise, build a human-based corporate culture; Fourthly we should cultivate the boss and staff with the moral character of egoism and altruism unified, trust and faith coexisted and furtherly rise to the highest level of professional dedication—holy occupation, regarding the occupation as the faith of life. The purpose of professional dedication is not only to satisfy physical requirement and mental vanity but also to accomplish human's mission. Only by creating wealth for the society endlessly will we make life worthwhile.
