With the development of the digital technology, people's daily lives were affected profoundly by the internet, especially on the issue of the acquisition, exchange and share of the information. Nevertheless, the rapid development of internet brought new challenges and put the moral rights protection of authors at an unprecedented dangerous position. The divergence within the moral rights protection field will still exist in the near future and it is far away from an international standard to reach, which can be applied over the world. Accordingly, in order to adapt the digital revolution on the internet and solve the problems brought by the new challenges, the system of moral rights protection should be rethought and adjusted. This article firstly introduces the basic concept of moral rights; Secondly, it discusses the challenges brought on by the internet and emphasizes the importance of moral rights protection. Then it shifts its focus to the moral rights protection situation among the two families of law represented by four typical countries, and some international treaties involving moral rights are touched on as well. In the next part, it analyzes the three main legal practice models to deal with moral rights in the face of the challenges on the internet. Finally, it gives some suggestions about which model should be adopted by China's copyrights law.
