The Study On Democratic Parties' Political-party Consciousness At The Early Stage Of Prc (1949–1952)

Democratic Parties is an important power at the contemporary political stage of China. In the early days of New China, the democratic parties, together with CPC, built the CPC-led multi-party cooperation system, and participated actively in the construction and innovation of New China. During the new period of the socialist reform, opening up and modernization drive, as the parties participating in state affairs with profound connotations of advancement and universality, the democratic parties are devoting themselves to the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics. They have a special and vital function of promoting China's political development and socialist democracy.At this new stage in the new century, the problem of Political Participating Party's consciousness has become one of the important projects within researches on the ideological and political construction of democratic parties and China's political party system. It's necessary to review the development of China's democratic parties and find out the principles or laws, which set a good stage for further exploration on present researches. At the early stage of PRC, the democratic parties got a delectable achievement on enforcing the functions of the participating part in government and political affairs, which was directly connected to its determination of the connotation and role of political-party consciousness when facing new situation. Under such circumstances, this paper gives its focus on the potential construction of democratic parties'political-party consciousness during the period of 1949–1952, with a view to deepening the researches on participating party consciousness and democratic parties'Self-construction to study the benefit. Apart from foreword and conclusion, this paper comprises three sections.Section 1, it chiefly introduces the potential construction of democratic parties'political-party consciousness at the early stage of PRC. In the author's eyes, the characteristic of the construction has two aspects. The first, the democratic parties had profoundly identified themselves with"The Common Outline of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference". The second, they had tried to keep a balance point between sufficiently participating in political affairs and forming the non-power domination and equilibrium. In the process of adjusting and enhancing their political-party consciousness, the democratic parties had done many endeavors in fighting against various wrong trends under the influence of political thinking of liberalism and radicalism within the parties.Section 2, it primarily analyzes the historical necessity of the construction of democratic parties'political-party consciousness, which takes the research beginning by the change of the social and historical conditions of China and the internal factors of democratic parties. The social and historical conditions constitute by the political development under the influence of time characteristic and the political function of all the existing parties, while the internal factors of democratic parties mainly include there aspects. The first, there was resemblance between the traditional pursuit of value of democratic parties and the new-democratic theory. The second, the CPC-led multi-party cooperation system created a good precondition for the democratic parties to realize their consciousness of political participation. The third, the principal leaders'thoughts on political party exerted much influence on the development of democratic parties'political-party consciousness.Section 3, it sums up and analyzes the achievement and defects of the construction of democratic parties'political-party consciousness. In my view, the construction had mainly succeeded, which was primarily embodied in the development condition of democratic parties and social effect of their participating in government and political affairs at that period. However, there were some deviations in the process of the construction in a certain extend. The first, the democratic parties had taken a dependency on CPC, which made their own consciousness of affecting the political system weaker. The second, several members of democratic parties lacked the profound understanding of the political consultation and expressed inappropriate opinions on participating in political affairs. Theoretically, the construction of democratic parties'political-party consciousness at the early stage of PRC will provide valuable empirical facts for the development of participating party consciousness in New Era.In a word, the construction of democratic parties'political-party consciousness during the period of 1949–1952, which was closely relative to the process of preparation for socialist revolution, had enhanced the party system of multi-party cooperation at the early stage of PRC and provided a reliable political guarantee for the socialist transformation which ensued. Furthermore, due to the development of socialist factors in the political practice, the adjustment of democratic parties'political-party consciousness had laid solid ideological and theoretical foundation for their transformation from the new democratic parties with class union to the socialist parties with political union.
