To build environment-friendly society, a lot of environmental legislation is still not an effective resolution of growing environmental problems. This paper will tell us another culture resource which we could not forget in forming the harmonious society-- Ethnic Minority's Customary Law on Environment. Realizing any social ideal, human beings can not sever historical tradition. In the pattern of'Pluralistic integration'of Chinese, to seek the harmonious development of man and nature, Ethnic Minority's Customary Law on Environment must be fully respected.Theoretical Study of customary laws of ethnic minorities is not uncommon, but the writings which relating to environmental protection are not many. This article is based on the existing customary law of minority research, focusing on the development of Ethnic Minority's Customary Law on Environment, which will be instructive to the construction of a harmonious society. In this paper, the study of Ethnic Minority's Customary Law on Environment mainly includes minorities in southwestern China because of the region of geography, climate, ecological environment, the diversity of customary law and many academic research results.In this paper, the structure is divided into three parts. The first part introduces the early development of Ethnic Minority's Customary Law on Environment, including the concept of customary law, the Environmental Protection of minority origin, forms, content, characteristics and effectiveness; the second part is about the two historical periods of the changes and a detailed analysis; part III is making a rational analysis of the future of Ethnic Minority's Customary Law on Environment.The purpose of this paper is to show constructions of Ethnic Minority's Customary Law on Environment, which should be fully respected. The narration herein is history, but the meaning is instantly.
