Research On The Concept Of Spouse Choosing Of Unmarried Young People In Rural Areas

young people's concept of spouse choosing is effected by socio-economic and cultural, putting up obvious sociality and the times. unmarried young people's concept of spouse choosing mirrors their attitude to spouse choosing. According to their concept of spouse choosing, we can predict their spouse choosing and the trend of rural market of spouse choosing.This paper is based on the theory of "Exchange theory of spouse choosing", "Gradient theory of spouse choosing" and "Hierarchical theory of needs", collecting the materials by the methods of the questionnaire and case study about unmarried young people's concept of spouse choosing in rural areas of Gushi County in Henan Province. Then the author analyzes some factors that affect their concept. The paper shows:(1)Unmarried young people's cognition of spouse choosing. They choose spouse for Institutional need and meeting their own need, that take it as a necessary process in life and a way of getting mental and psychological needs. Secondly, their ideal pattern between men and women is that men have advantage over women in age and economic. Thirdly, they have great awareness in liberalization, thinking that they should make decision about spouse choosing. Fourth, young men think that there are some problems in their spouse choosing.(2) Unmarried young people's emotion of spouse choosing. Most of them take spouse choosing serious, and they have great confidence to find satisfied spouse. But they are unsatisfied with local custom of spouse choosing, which showing that there are some unfavorable factors in it.(3) Unmarried young people's intention of spouse choosing. According to their criterions, they play down their orientation of utilitarian, while attach importance to practicality. The ideal way of spouse choosing is to meet their people by themselves, showing that they have strong desire to choose spouse freely.(4) Personal characteristics, family and society influence their concept of spouse choosing. Personal characteristics include sex, education, career, and economic, while people of different sex have obviously differences in concept of spouse choosing. Parents'attitude to young people's spouse choosing and their education impact their concept. Environment of public opinion and the sex ratio impact their concept.
