In early 2003, Tennis Management Center of the State General Administration of Sports, drew up the strategic policy of "focus on women event, women's doubles as a breakthrough", and established the guiding principle of "must adhere to professional road ", in order to achieve substantial progress for Chinese competitive tennis level, and gradually adopted a "go out, and come in" approach to learn the advanced international training model. After a series of measures, competitive women's tennis in china quickly achieved success one after another. With the progress made we must know that comparing with Russian and other world-class countries, the level of Chinese competitive women's tennis are still lagged fairly far behind. After 2008 Olympic Games, how to make further improvement of the level of Chinese competitive women's tennis and achieve sustainable development has become an urgent subject that urgent of study and research. Literature survey, expert interview, mathematical statistics, and logic analysis were used to investigate coaches, players, training and competition, management system, etc. The results of the study are summarized as follows:1. Five national top players are at optimum age. However, on arriving at next Olympic Games, the competitive ability will be declined with aging except Peng Shuai. In spite of that, Chinese young players cannot undertake the major competition tasks. In case of the front-line players retire; the level of Chinese competitive women's tennis will probably go down.2. Combined with China's specific national conditions, Chinese competitive tennis development status and the level of players and consideration of various factors nationally standardized and "Chinese professional character" will help Chinese competitive women's tennis sustainable development.3. It plays a positive role to improve the overall ability of China tennis coach that the system of the national tennis coach training is gradually developing. However, their academic background and specialized knowledge are not well and they also have trouble in reading and talking in English.4. The amount of entering match of foreign professional athletes is equivalent to that of six top players of our national team, but obviously more than that of players of province teams. The main reason is that the domestic match set in every year is not enough.5. China women's tennis athletes are satisfied with the overall training. But the frequency and time of the training are excessive. The current training way is harmful to improving our athletes. At present, the biggest problem of current training is that the match and training become disjointed and the training of physical activity capability and preventing injury are not good enough. In addition, we suggested some solutions of the problem in china competitive women's tennis post 2008 Olympic Games:1.Improve the training system and selection of backup athletes; 2.Improve the academic background of china women's'tennis coaches and combine it with special training to enhance china coaches'ability; 3.Increase the number of matches Chinese adolescent athletes taking part in by reforming the system of domestic tennis match; 4.Improve tennis training mode and principle; 5. Solve the three main problems in domestic tennis training.
