New Curriculum English Writing Practice And Research In Senior Middle School

English, as a universal language, has become increasingly affected by people's concern and attention. Our society also has a higher demand for English when hiring employees. What's more, English is always one of the most important courses in school. However, English writing, as one of the basic skills and a good way to show one's language ability, has become a trouble in senior middle school. In the writer's view, there are mainly two problems:First, a great number of students are afraid to write composition in English and have low writing skills or abilities; Second, the traditional teaching method in writing is not good enough to make teachers'pay and reward proportional. Then, can we find a good way to improve the situation or to put it to an end?For this purpose, I'd like to put "face to face" teaching method into English writing practice. Based on the "Buckets Law" and the research of other writers, the thesis put forward the concept of "face to face" teaching method, hoping that the teachers can help improve the students'writing skills and abilities by finding out their shortcomings first. Besides, it also emphasizes the significance of individualized teaching and emotional penetration by implementing "face to face" teaching method.The author of this thesis has carried out an experiment on 110 students, which lasted for nearly one year. According to the questionnaires and the data of standardized tests from the experiment, the writer can safely come to a conclusion that "face to face" teaching method is a good way to improve the students'attitudes towards English and promote their writing skills and abilities as well. What's more, it is also a reply to the low effectiveness of the current traditional teaching method in English writing.
