The current teaching innovation of the Chinese reading at primary school focuses on the development of new teaching methods and models which, under the present condition, meet the requirement of the modern teaching theory and accord with the demand of educational development. The schemata theory of the modern cognitional psychology has laid a solid foundation for the teaching and learning of Chinese reading at primary school. Therefore, the schemata reading at the primary school level has its positive and realistic meaning. The inherent features such as coherence, openness, inquiry and variety make the subject teaching and learning itself an essence to implement the schemata reading. According to the learning psychological laws of the schemata reading, a package of operating models combining intensive and extensive reading and writing has been formed. And there is a series of scientific testing and evaluating system ensuring the efficiency of the schemata reading. In short, the carrying out of the schemata reading on the basis of thematic teaching gives us a new way of thinking to improve the teaching efficiency of the Chinese reading at primary school.
