Recently, more and more teachers are showing more concerns to the study of the teaching of writing. There are two reasons for this:one is that the new criterion of English course in senior high school raises the standard of writing. The other is the percentage of writing score of the whole paper is on the increase. Heilongjiang Province is going to assign the NMET papers herself. Thus, not only the needs of society but also the guide of the NMET calls for better high school teaching of writing.The students are senior three students. They have gained a certain basis for further training in writing. But their writing skills are so poor that improvement is badly needed. Through much research work I've found the process writing, and I had a try of it. I found that the students really could write with more confidence. But problems also arose---most compositions were alike in good sentences and words; some good students even complained that word preparations somewhat limit their thinking. According to this, I decided to find out whether the process writing can effectively and efficiently raise senior three students'writing ability; how to reduce similarity; how to use rules to get rid of the problems of limiting thinking.To show that process writing can effectively and efficiently improve the students writing skills, class 11 of grade 3 is chosen as experimental class and class 1 as the control class. Before the research a survey of the students'writing ability was carried out. At the end of the research, I collected the writing scores of the experimental class and the control class from a big exam of our province. In the middle of the research, I collected a questionnaire among the experimental class to get more detailed information. Interviews with some of the students were also carried out soon after. The data from the questionnaire and the interviews were analyzed and used to alter the later research act. The research act lasted 8 months. At the end of it, the scores from the trial exam of Heilongjiang Province were used to analyze using SPSS. The sig number showed that process writing really can improve senior three students' writing ability effectively. Meanwhile, some ways to solve similarity as well as some gauges are developed.This theme consists of 5 partsThe first part is the introduction part. It provides the background of the research.The second part mainly deals with two writing approaches:the product approach and the process approach; The research of the process approach at home and abroad. Meanwhile the steps of the process approach in teaching are suggested.The third part is the core of this paper. Aims, methods, object of the experiment and one sample lesson are introduced.The fourth part is about the analysis and discussion of the experiment. The questionnaire and the interviews are analyzed together in details in this part. The suggestions based on the analysis are also included.The fifth part makes a reflection on the disadvantages of this paper and proposes further research and gives reference information of writing strategies.
