Middle school students who have already learned English for a long time and are in the transition between simplicity and maturity, have their own study method and their own opinions about specific knowledge points. However, their views about knowledge are still not mature and need to be frequently developed and corrected by English teachers. It is in the class that students get the most help from teachers, and classroom assessment between teachers and students can influence students'learning state, mood, etc. Classroom assessment leads one of the most important part in English teaching process. With the help of classroom assessment, students can improve themselves continually to achieve success, getting to know themselves better, establishing self-confidence to make full use of their ability of language use. Moreover, classroom assessment can supply teachers with feedback, which can motivate them to think over their own teaching process and adjust it to improve their own English teaching level. Classroom assessment is a crucial part in middle school English classroom teaching.The evaluative activity in Middle School English classes involves not only teachers but also students, through various approaches. When judging by different kinds of students, the assessment approach should change accordingly, for students differ in their characteristics and the ability of acquiring knowledge, teachers should adopt different classroom assessment approaches. This paper will take the example of Class F of Grade One in Jiang Su Hua Luogeng High School, studying the methods and strategies which are suitable for middle school English teaching, trying to establish a classroom assessment system which can apply to middle school English teaching in real classroom situation.
