Reflective teaching design is on the theoretical basis of reflective teaching and teaching design, based on the real situation of the variable and complex teaching process in class. It is a design in order to facilitate the teaching design and the teaching process. Its ultimate goal is the professional development of the teacher and the comprehensive development of the students. The processes of teaching and researching are integrated in the design of reflective teaching. Reflection is the guideline as well as the method of teaching design, and design and the actual implementing is the aim of reflection, as well as a re-verification of the result of reflection. This paper analyses the possibility and necessity of the integration of reflective teaching and teaching design. It tries to define the connotation of reflective teaching design and introduce the reflective teaching design to the teaching in middle schools. In order to assure the design foundation is scientific and acceptable. The author did the research about the learning situation in the first grade in the high school. The result shows that the students have some basic development in their learning process, but still lack the ability to use the comprehensive English skills which their teacher have taught them. To verify the function of reflective teaching design, the author did some experiments and has got a positive result in improving the teaching quality and the students' learning methods.Full text is divided into five parts:Partâ… : the analysis of the current situation of reflective teaching design in middle school. This part is mainly based on the methods of survey and interview to analyze and conclude the current situation of reflective teaching design in middle school:there are very few middle school students have some reflection and conclusion about their studying methods, the teaching aim, content and the teaching process which are designed by the teachers. Most of the middle school English teachers use conventional teaching methods without innovation.Partâ…¡: the basic theory of reflective teaching and teaching design. This part analyzes the basic theory of reflective teaching and teaching design, including the history and development of reflective teaching and teaching design, the possibility of the integration of these two items and the connotation of reflective teaching design.Partâ…¢:the specific category of reflective teaching in middle school English class. This part is composed by three stages which are pre-reflective stage, the reflective stage in teaching process and pro-reflective stage. Some cases manifest the designing process in teaching target, teaching content, teaching method, teaching process and teaching evaluation through reflective teaching design in middle school English class.Partâ…£: particular features of reflective teaching design in middle school English class. In this part, there are cases to present that reflective teaching design improves the quality of teaching in listening, speaking, reading and writing.Partâ…¤: conclusion. This part concludes the result of this research, and point out some disadvantages of this text.
