Research On College Students' Civic Awareness Cultivation Under The Perspective Of Internet Public Sphere

Good civic awareness is the spiritual power promoting social progress. As the future master of the country and times, college students'civic awareness is not only in relation to the country's socialist modernization, but also relates to the success or failure of the future of the country and nationality. When the network has gradually been a public space, the civic awareness budding, the relationship between network and civic awareness of college students are also increasingly close. This paper pays attention to system analysis. Through the analysis of Internet public sphere in college students'civic awareness cultivation, and the discuss of negative effects offered by current immature internet public sphere to students, it put forward some paths and suggestions in order to promote college students'civic sphere cultivation in cyberspace. Specially, the main part of the paper are as follows:The introduction briefly expatiates to the origin, background, idea, significance and the study status of related issues in domestic and foreign academic circles about this paper.The first part committed to specify the basic theory and related concepts. College students'civic awareness is their cognition about their identity and political role and to which rights, obligations and responsibilities. Internet public sphere refers to a network autonomous area which can offer the public enjoying independent personality and freedom an equal dialogue platform to form rational criticism and consensus, to supervise national power, and to promote national and social benign interaction.The second part, comb the public domain three structural elements:participants, media and rational criticism and consensus. On this basis, I infer that internet public sphere has basically met the generation conditions, and the real public sphere will launch more easily in internet space. In this part, I explain the interactive relation between students'civic awareness and internet public sphere. Namely, internet public sphere can help students shape subject consciousness and personality, can guide students to participate in democratic life and cultivate legal concept, can stimulate students'sense of responsibility and ethics consciousness. The progress of students' civic awareness can promote the perfection and influential play of the internet public sphere.In the third part of this paper, we research the current development status of internet public sphere, analyzing the negative impact it has done to students, including forming vicarious participations, wrong Accountability consciousness and extreme criticism consciousness.The fourth part discusses the basic idea of college students'civic awareness cultivation:democracy and the rule of law, liberty, equality and justice. We analyze and interpret the content of college students'civic awareness cultivating, including subject consciousness as a soul, rights and obligations consciousness as power, sense of public morality as support and sense of participation as value end-result. In the end, I will discuss how to use internet to shape a new path for students'civic awareness cultivating in network society. We should deepen the concept of community organization in internet public sphere to cultivate students' consciousness of participation, construct a standard system for internet public sphere to help shape students' law spirit, and last but not least, strengthen the consensus guidance in the internet public sphere in order to improve the students' media literacy.
