A Survey On The Study Experiences Of Colege Students

Higher Education becomes the focus and concern of all parties. How to evaluate the quality of Higher Education? That is a difficult question which hasn't got an agreed answer. The survey on the Study Experiences of College Students may offer certain new viewpoint to the solution of the problem.This paper is intended to provide a Questionnaire Survey on 1110 students of S University in Shanghai on the four aspects: Course Study Activities, Extra-Curriculum Activities, Personal experiences and Interpersonal relation, and the evaluation of their university as well as their gains in their universities. Using the College Student Experiences Questionnaire (CSEQ) as reference, the Questionnaire made some revision according to the actual situation of Chinese universities. This survey is on the following topics: What is the current situation of College Students'study experiences? What are the characteristics of College Students'study experiences? What are the differences of their experiences? What are the factors that influence their experiences? How to improve the quality of Higher Education effectively?The survey discovers that universities have already attached great importance to the College Students'study experiences to some extent; however, there are still shortcomings in specific practices. First of all, most students can study well and make good use of the school facilities and resources with a wish for using the school facilities and getting the relevant information. This is a reflection that college students have got some thoughts on their roles in school and career planning. However, there are still some students who go with the tide. They don't have a long-term career planning and don't know how to use the school facilities effectively.Second, the research on the Study Experiences of College Students in China is still at the initial stage of development. There are still lots of influences and restrains from lots of factors including the students'and the universities'aspects. On one hand, the students'initiative will directly influence their gains in study experiences; on the other hand, the universities will tend to overlook students'subject positions and lag behind in responding to students'appeals due to the traditional high school manage system.Based on the research finding, this paper supplies some strategies on how to improve the Study Experiences of College Students.1) Perform the"Students-Oriented"educational idea. 2) Make better use of"Students Information and Data. 3) Emphasis on the survey pattern of"the Study Experiences of College Students". The CSEQ survey emphasis on the actual learning experiences and focuses on the teaching ability of High School which is an evaluation pattern based truly on the students'study and high school teaching. Based on the current situation in which still lacks the nation-wide independent survey on students, this paper is intended to ease the worries on using questionnaire to evaluate high education, thus, to call on a open, positive, cooperative attitude on this kind of research, at last, to build scientific evaluation system to actually promote the high education quality and benefit students.
