The Research Of Causes And Preventive Measures Of Problematic Gambler In Sports Lottery

Ever since the issuing in 1994, sports lottery has made tremendous contribution for public welfare and sports cause during its 17 years vigorous development. At the same time, lots of problems and disadvantages existed throughout the growing of sports lottery. For instance, the gambling nature of lottery itself cannot be concealed by its legitimacy, law and regulation system concerning sports lottery is not well established in China, problematic gambler caused by negative effects of lottery emerged. These problems not only restricted the further develop of lottery industry, but also brought unstable facts to society. Problematic and pathological gambler is a concern of lottery industry development as well as social welfare, and has draw attention from experts at home and abroad.Based on relevant research about sports lottery did by scholars at home and abroad, this study conducted a thorough research on problematic gambler with literature consultation, interview, questionnaire survey and data statistics method, this study analyzed the cause of problematic lottery buyers, and suggested preventive measures against it. The research contents include:(1)Define problematic gambling and problematic gamblers, differentiate and analyze related notions, recognize the definition and evaluation criterion of problematic gambler in the context of our social and economic conditions;(2)Survey findings and analysis. The writer chose 20 sports lottery sales outlets, and carried out an enquiry with sports lottery buyers. 200 questionnaires were issued, 184 of which were effective, the efficient is 92%. According to the assessment criteria of problematic lottery buyers, 23 questionnaires were chosen as samples for analyzing the cause of problematic lottery buyers, which means those buyers took 12.5% of total number. Through questionnaires diagnosis, the writer analyzed characteristics consumption behaviors of problematic lottery buyers;(3)Analysis on the causes of problematic gambler. Through collective research on quantitative criteria behavior character and special cases, the writer concluded the causes of problematic lottery buyers. The causes can be divided as internal factors and external factors, include buying motive, lottery cognition, lottery law and management system, game design and sports lottery promote culture;(4)According to the research mentioned above, the writer propose preventive measures and suggestion for problematic gamblers: enhance and complete the law system, establish the service station for problematic gambler, improve structure of sports lottery buyers, strengthened the regulation to the sports lottery industry, and set healthy consume culture.
