The method and experiment of individuality education were input into China during the Period of the Republic of China at the end of Qing Dynasty, and took root to germinate quietly in the transformation of the complex culture and politics. The New Culture Movement promoted emancipation of human individual character greatly, "seeking development of the individuality" which was worked out by 1922 educational system that was one of education objective made individuality education to obtain the official affirmation and the support in the Chinese history of education, the individuality education idea could be implemented comprehensively in the elementary and middle schools, the teaching method and experiment which suited to the students' individuality were fulfilled by the overseas educationalists who came to China and minority Chinese educationalists who had advanced educational idea and international field of vision in the difficult environment.In 1927, the Three People's Principles of Sun Yat-sen education objective was established by the national government, the individuality education was no longer advocated by the government, but the elementary and middle schools educator did not give up the theory search and the practice exploration of individuality education completely. The thought connotation of elementary and middle schools individuality education at the age of 20-30 in the 20th century blended together the essence of individuality education in the Republic of China.At the period, the thought connotation of elementary and middle schools individuality education manifested mainly in the following several aspects: establishing the educational system which suits to students' individuality development, giving the individuality educational system safeguard; studying the method which measure students'individuality scientifically, giving the individuality education methodology support; using teaching methods which suit to students'individuality development, giving the individuality education practice auxiliary; developing education experiment which suit to students' individuality development, in order to promoting the individuality education; choosing control system which suit to students' individuality development, promoting development of the students' individuality.Although this time's elementary and middle schools individuality education's thought has certain historical limitation, it has opened new times that the students' status were boosted, relations of teachers and students were democratized, the curriculum content were personalized, the teaching methods which suits to China were created. It not only became a big luminescent spot in the Republic of Chinese history of education, but also provided beneficial experience for the contemporary Chinese individuality education's reform practice.
