The second edition of New Senior English of China has been widely used since 2007 in China, generally, which is accepted by teachers and students. In this new edition, a new section named learning tip is a new point. The author makes a survey of New Senior English of China after it has been used several years later. First, according to the resources of teaching material evaluation, I statically evaluate learning tip by text analysis. Then through methods of the questionnaire survey, individual interview and classroom observation methods, the learning tip is investigated dynamically to solve the following questions:(1)What are the design objectives of learning tip section?(2)What are teachers'and students'attitudes towards the design of learning tip section?(3)What teaching strategies are used by teachers?(4)What're the teaching's effects of learning tip section?(5)What do teachers and students meet in the teaching process of learning tip section?The whole thesis consists of five chapters. The first part is the preface of the thesis, which introduces the reason of research, the definition of concept, the question of research, the ideas and methods of research. This part is aimed to clarify that the research questions according to two aspects of the feasibility and scientificity, choose scientific method of research. The second part is literature review. According to materials evaluation at home and abroad and its process of development, the differences and similarities of these materials evaluation has been found to provide a thorough analysis of abundant resources. The third part is the static evaluation of learning tip section.It explores the rationality, scientificity, objectivity and humanity of the design of the learning tip section. The fourth part is the evaluation of the results of questionnaire surveyed in learning tip section, revealing the results of the teachers and students to understand and grasp learning tip section. According to the actual observation and the out-of-class interviews, more advantages and disadvantages of learning tip can be revealed comprehensively. The fifth part is conclusion and suggestions. This thesis use the way of the static and dynamic evaluation, finding that learning tip section fits the requirements of new curriculum, which pays attention to cultivate students' learning strategies, to optimize students'learning methods and enhance students' autonomous learning ability. Most students are satisfied with how to learn English that learning tip section offer. Eighty three point three percent of teachers are satisfied the design purpose of learning tip section. Some of teachers who understand the designing purpose of learning tip section haven't the most use of learning tip section because of the classroom time limited and the pressure of college entrance exam. This thesis suggests that teachers adopt implicit teaching methods and combine this section with other section, which will save the time of classroom teaching and help combines theory with practice organically. About two thirds of teachers are not satisfied with teaching assistant materials of learning tip section, which causes teachers' difficulty in the process of teaching. Therefore designers of material need to take it consideration.
