The issue of educational system and teaching mode in China has always been the social focus. Many people have expressed their own opinion on how to improve and the most popular one is the movement of "quality education" which actually equals to the curriculum reform from teaching approach. Shanghai had always taken the leading position in curricular reform and advanced the 3-D target of knowledge and skill, process and method, sensibility, attitude and value in the second stage of the curricula reform. However, no matter the quality education or the curricula reform both are facing an embarrass situation which becomes disputed hotspot in recent years, that is, mitigating stress on study reduces students'enthusiasm, quality education decreases proportion of the graduates and curricula reform brings either query on accessibility or problem of student departing from examination. Shanghai is no exception and those small subjects without enough attention are particularly serious.Master-line teaching method discussed in this thesis make a principium exploration toward the embarrass situation in new reform of curricular. And the aim of the paper is just to find a way or at least make an attempt to solve the embarrass situation.The master-line teaching method is so effective and fruitful in history teaching of senior high school that it brings great effect in the aspects of motivating student and helping them handling examination. And the practice of this method in single class and multi-classes guarantees its feasibility and practical significance.
