A Cost Structure-Behavior Study On Multi-campus University

The formation of multi-campus University of China began in early 1990s, mainly merging and adjusting the relevant institutions of college to converge. Multi-campus university, whether in the number, scale, layout and complexity of the subject, or in the cultural diversity on campus, has a lot of specificity, which brought to both development opportunities and challenges of management. First, Decentralized campuses bring about increasing management costs and the difficulty of management. And complicated information will affect the efficiency of decision making and management of schools. Second, large-scale management and full discipline is not easy to get economies of scale. The development of multi-campus university is in the dilemma commonly.Multi-campus universities in China have experienced a decade of development, the advantages and problems of multi-campus operating mode have come out recently. Multi-campus' development is facing various challenges, such as the increasing financial cost, whether it can achieve scale economy, whether the management efficiency will lower. This paper is starting from this. This paper adopts the combination of theoretical construction and empirical research methods, the use of management and economics knowledge to analyze the argument.The main paper is divided into five parts:Introduction, Definition of multi-campus university, analysis framework of cost behavior, empirical research and resource optimization measures.The first part is the present situation of domestic and foreign research-based articles and research innovative ideas. The second part of the main body studied the concept of multi-campus University of defined. The third part of the article built a theoretical framework from the perspective of the cost. The fourth part studied true case of multi-campus operating from Lanzhou University, before and after the reality of the cost from 1999 to 2008, conducting data analysis to identify cost behavior of multi-campus University of the main factors. The fifth part is about the school from the multi-campus University of optimal allocation of resources Point of view, multi-campus universities in China are facing some of the difficulties in operation there, put forward specific measures optimal allocation of resources.
