In this paper, CT is applied to make an analysis about the Sanda and Gongli sports on carpal bones. Choose 8 Wushu gongli athletes, 6 Sanda athletes, and 6 volunteers in good health, (ages 18-30). The carpal bones of the subjects are scanned by a the spiral CT, then into 3D reconstruction. Their respective carpal bone density, its volume and comparative volume are measured, and then analyzed statistically. The results: (1)For gongli athletes, the average CT value of their right-hand carpal (520.67±57.85) and hamatum (530.17±48.28) are greater than that in the normal group (455.83±34.82, 474.17±37.04, P<0.05), and left-hand carpal (497.17±44.19) is also greater with significant difference (442.50±37.17, P<0.05). For Sanda, the average CT value of their right-hand triquetrum (559.83±60.21), trapezoid (541.17±43.71) bones and carpal (523.50±46.48) is larger than that in the normal group (489.40±47.38, 441.60±67.40, 455.83±34.82, P<0.05), and the average CT value of their left-hand triquetrum (562.33±53.71), pisiform (450.01±33.24), trapezoid (541.17±43.71) bones and carpal (508.50±44.32) is larger than that in the normal group (466.20±61.76, 370.07±52.15, 429.40±61.08, 442.50±37.17, P<0.05). (2) Left-hand and right-hand triquetrum (2.04±0.29, 2.09±0.36) volume in the gongli group is larger than that in the normal group (1.65±0.22, 1.64±0.24, P<0.05); in other carpal volume there is no significant difference (P>0.05). However, there is no significant difference between Sanda and gongli group, Sanda and normal group (P>0.05). (3) There is no significant difference among three groups in comparative volume (P>0.05).The study indicates: the stress on wrist, directly by Sanda and gongli exercise, has a great influence on the density of carpal bones, causing adaptive changes, which reflects the athletes'standard and ability to attack and defend. Their influence on the volume and comparative volume of carpal bones is relatively small. This imaging data can provide more intuitive and accurate basis to the scientific selection for the athletes, and have referential significance on the Sanda and gongli exercise, even on boxing, volleyball, gymnastics or else.
