The Computer Assisted Instruction (CAL) is a hot developing branch of the computer application. It has added the new mode up to the traditional instruction. In all kinds of periods, it has always been developing, improving to make itself better. With the appearance of network and development of network technology, it transfers from microcomputer environment to network environment. Furthermore owing to the improvement of the multimedia technology, its performance has become more diverse. At present, the remote instruction has become the prevalent way of the modem education. This thesis introduces the idea of design and the technology adopted in the courseware. The courseware includes three parts. The instruction demo is consisted of serials of web pages, which compose of the hypertext and hypermedia. The demonstration part uses the DHTML technology to demonstrate the instruction content vividly. The test part based on the network adopts ~the ASP technology to access the SQL Server database. It gets the questions from the database randomly to create the test page. Either time is over or the page is handed in, the system would correct the answerand count the score. So the courseware supports the intercourse of the students and the teachers. In order to develop the way of performance and interaction, make the students study intensely and efficiently, the developer tries to use new technologies or ways to improve the function of the web page. With the ActiveX control embbed in the web page, the courseware will be more diverse and vivid. The courseware could run on network successfi.illy. It makes use of the network resource fully. I hope my research will be helpful to courseware development.
