Senior high school students' poor productive skills in our country affect their development of abilities to use synthetic English language. Language skills are one of the bases of abilities to use synthetic English language. National English Curriculum Standards for Common Senior High School gives a definite definition for four skills-listening, speaking, reading and writing. Listening and reading are receptive skills;Speaking and writing are productive skills. Productive skills, which consist of one oftheir important parts-productive techniques, base on receptive skills. To developstudents' productive skills, we should first improve their productive techniques. Strategy training in the oral language teaching and English writing teaching has been proved by many studies an essential and effective way of improving spoken and writing proficiency. This paper focuses on productive skills, demonstrates two aspects of strategy training and suggests practical methods of strategy instruction in oral and writing classroom. The essence of strategy training is to help students "introspection", to find out why it is hard for them to speak and write English and find out the problems they have in their English studying methods. The author adopts measures to improve students' level of speaking and writing and cultivate their abilities of autonomous learning, which, in turn, leads to an enhancement of their language competent. To reach these goals, English teachers should be the facilitators of students' spoken and writing proficiency, the stimulators of students' affective factors, and guides of students' active learning.
