There are full of competitions in contemporary educational system. The disadvantaged student group is common in school. With promotion of quality education, the study on the disadvantaged student group is very important.With knowledge of sociology, pedagogy and psychology, in the view of educational sociology, the text regards Grade four in affiliated primary school of Jiangxi ShangRao teachers college as the research object, analyzes the types of the disadvantaged student group with literatures , researches a selected class in which how many types of the disadvantaged student group there are and how are their disadvantaged situations.This thesis divides into four parts:The first part defines the conception of the disadvantaged student group in the view of sociology : the disadvantaged student group is a special group whose study rights are lack, whose school life quality and mental endurance are poorer. This is an inclusive concept referring to individual students or groups with the one or more of the above-mentioned characteristics, not a specifical. They are characteristics of concealment, relativity, multiplicity, circumstantialness and changeability.The second part classifies the disadvantaged student community with literatures, there are physically, mentally, socially and achievedly disadvantaged student groups in every class. Physically disadvantaged student group includes girls, plain students and weak students. Mentally disadvantaged one includes those lacking edge in character and personality as well as general mental quality. Socially disadvantaged one includes those lacking edge in family and inter-personal relationship. Achievedly disadvantaged one refers to those whose study is bad.The third part has investigated and analyzed the disadvantaged situations of Grade four with literatures, questionaire, interview, observation in and after class in the view of educational sociology: The disadvantaged situation of the first is that they are despised psychologically. Mentally poor endurance is the major character of the second. Poor quality in school life is the major character of the third. Lacking in study rights is the major character of the fourth.The fourth part summarizes this thesis. These conclusions can be drew that: the study on the disadvantaged student group has the values in theory and practice, it is vital to the promotion of quality education; the disadvantaged student group is complex, so its changeability is a very difficult project.
