In recent years, the traditional concepts of 'intelligence' became more and more inadaptable to the goal of quality education. The problem of how to assess 'intelligence' has become the urgent need of the development of education. Professor Gardner of Harvard University has set forth the theory of 'multiple intelligences' (MI) which offers a new way of thinking and helps us to assess 'intelligence' in all possible perspectives, therefore instructs the school education to explore each student's potential ability as much as possible. It is due to the reason mentioned above that this theory has impacted greatly on the educational theories of many countries including America, thus became the essential guiding educational ideology of these countries. In our country, though the research and the application of this theory started late comparing that of other countries, it develops very rapidly and draws the educators' increasing attention. After the investigation in schools such as Min Hang Experimental Primary School, it was discovered that the problem of how to assess students' multiple intelligence effectively and make the teachers as well as parents get to know the distribution of their intelligent, so that developing the multiple intelligence through the improvement of teaching design, has become the common focus as well as the difficulty of the teachers. One essential step of assessing multiple intelligences lies in how to design a rational testing system and then draws the result scientifically. After doing a large amount of data-collection, we discovered that there still exist several shortcomings in the present testing systems, owing to the misunderstanding of the MI testing: 1) Most of current testing questions emphasize too much on the preference, interest, or self-description of the objects, but not the capability; 2) less pertinence. Presently an integrated testing system for different applied objects of different age groups has not been established yet; 3) the inadaptability of some tests to Chinese cultural background. At present most of the MI tests are cited from the existing American tests directly, which are designed based on American cultural background, thus are not suitable for assessing Chinese students; 4) the irrationality of the results analysis. Too much emphasis is put on the crosswise comparison between individuals, but less is put on the vertical comparison of the same individual themselves; 5) the failure of ensuring the effectiveness of the results in a technical perspective. 6) The incapability of feeding back thetesting results on time.Aiming at solving the problems ibid, and taking advice from Professor Gardner into account, this thesis offers a detailed analysis of the original 80 Armstrong questions with the MI theory as reference Also it offers a new design of the testing questions which includes tests for students as well as aided test questions for teachers and parents so that make it more pertinent. This design emphasized on solving the problems and reviewing the capability, and at the same time taking the different characters of the objects into account. Furthermore, it gives some original point of view in how to integrate the tests for different objects to draw an all-round and rational result.Based on the abundant analysis of the MI theory and its current application, in this thesis we developed an online MI testing system which has pertinence and capable of results feedback. With the application of modern instructional technology, this system offers stochastic testing questions, allows the testing objects get a more objective distribution table of intelligence; furthermore, this system applies the Blog as the tool to provide a flat for the record of files. The system applies B/S (Browser/Server) structure, so it doesn't need a set-up program and is easy to expand as well as to defend. The exploitation of the system applies ASP (Active Server Pages) technology. Because the amount of data is small, the establishment of the data-store applies the comparativel...
