Being full of opportunities as well as challenges, the 21st century demands a higher scientific quality on the part of the education. Thus, the fundamental scientific education has been fore-ground as the key area in high schools. Whether the education of high school physics can meet the needs of the time has become the main concern of the educators. Each of the educators who works for the basic education should meet and study an important subject, which is how to reform the traditonal teaching and improve the educatinal quality and make the eduacated talents meet the request of the knowledge economic society. As a branch of pedagogics, comparative pedagogy has a history of almost two centuries. The main purpose of comparative pedagogy is to summarize the successful experience of the education in different countries and learn form them to improve the own educational system and patterns.By using the methods of documents analysis, statement and investigation, this paper makes an objective comparison between Chinese and English physical textbooks from an angle of a physical teaching staff in a middle school. These comparisions may refract the disparitries of teaching methodologies and educational idea in the two countries. In this way, we can make sure about the merits and demerits of the high school physical education in our country. In the light of specific conditions in our country, some personal suggestions are offered in this paper:1. Regard developing the interest of the students as the starting point of the high school physical education.2. Choose the teaching material which is flexible and diversified.3. Physical textbooks must face to the life.and we must study in life.by life and for life.4. Attach importance to the integration of theory and practice, strengthen the mutual infiltration among science, technology and society (STS ).I wish these suggestions should widen the middle school teachers' outlook and afford the reference to the reformation of the high school physical education in the future.
