Probing into the theory and practice of research-oriented curriculum (ROC) in Chinese High SchoolIn the new century in which creation has iacreasingly become a prominent spirit, ROC following the trend of global curriculum reform has distinguished itself as a highlight in China's current curriculum reform. The paper is intended to make a research of its theoretical construction and practical reflection in order to offer the proposals for the advancement of the ROC in China.The paper is composed of six parts besides the part of forward. The first part analyzes the nature of the ROC, describes its historical development tnd its practical significance of developing the ROC. Bated on the basic principle of the curriculum theory, the second part gives an explanation of ROC's valwe-pursuit and the developing models. Through the investigation and interviews, the third part reflects the practices of ROC and reveals the problems existed and analyses the reasons of producing them. The fourth part exhibits the general situation of the ROC's development abroad so as to find some strategies for our reference. The fifth part, which is based on the good grasp of the current situation, aims at offering some proposals and recommendations for the betterment of the ROC. The sixth part provides the issues which need further discussed in the following days.
