The basic meaning of design-oriented vocational education thought is that vocational education is not only needing the students to have technical adaption ability but also the ability of joining in the designing and creating the future technology and working world with the attitude of being responsible for the society,economy,and environment.In the year of 1986 and 1988,German Expert Committee presents five basic aspects respectively about designing concept which include technology,working organization,main body,social developement,and overall designing.There is no simple dominant relations among education,job and technology.There is a design space exists between techonology possiblity and social needing.Learners would naturally integrate into the process of production design during the working with the continuous improvement of technology skill under the leading of interest.During this process,learners explore actively on professional knowledge and supporting of designing theory in this area.Through an in-depth study of vocational education design concepts,this paper explores design-oriented teaching modes and methods suitable for preschool education majors in secondary vocational schools,and deepens the teaching reform as well.The purpose of this paper is to develop more excellent preschool education talents with the design and innovative awareness and the vocational development potential.By means of literature review,comparative analysis and questionnaire,this paper has demonstrated the early achievements of Z Secondary Vocational School in exploring the design-oriented teaching mode for preschool education.This paper has mainly analyzed the educational thoughts and teaching mode of design-oriented education.It consists of five chapters.The first part is devoted to the research background,purpose,meaning,research status both at home and abroad,theoretical basis,thoughts,content,methods and the definition of core concepts.The second part is conceded with the analysis on the three major teaching modes for preschool education in the secondary vocational school as well as the problems related to their application to preschool education.The comparison between designoriented teaching mode and the three modes for the major projects will be also made.In the third chapter,the research into the design-oriented teaching mode will be discussed.It has included the purpose,content,implementation,evaluation and mode of teaching mode as well as the means of cultivating five ways of thinking and five abilities under the mode.In the fourth chapter,the cases aimed at the same course under the designoriented mode and operation-oriented mode will be compared and analyzed.The degree of fitness between the two modes and the course as well as their teaching effect will be presented directly.Based on the analysis of the questionnaire aimed at the same subject for those students in the same grade during two years,it can be concluded that the design-oriented teaching mode is a new teaching mode suitable for the major of preschool education in the secondary vocational school.
