Study On The Dynamic Of The Rural Community's Internal-Motivating-development During The Course Of Modernization In China

The purpose of the thesis is to have a on-the-spot study on W village in the North of Anhui province, which is quite apart from cities and without advantages of resources. Based on the history of its development with the background of characteristics of our current modernization and the experience of other countries' modernization , it probes into how internal and external motive of rural community confront, stratify, assimilate and develop in such a society where tradition and modernity both exist.After the previous development in the early and middle 1980s, the rural community in China on the way to modernization needs to obtain further development, we feel that the ENERGY(Parsons,1951) supplied by the previous cohesion of community structure and function proves evidently limited ,therefore, new ENERGY is needed. The new energy, on one hand, is derived from input of system's external motivity, and on the other hand ,is from regulation and change of community structure on the condition of convergence of inner and outer motivity. It is in the course of input of external motivity and regulation of community inner structure that the structure that the previous balance of inner structure in community has been broken. But the new mechanism, which is supposed to meet the demands of modernization, and replace many functions maintained in previous structure, can not be established because of the lack of fundamental social support, then the establishment of rural community comes into a condition of confusion. Meanwhile, if the development of rural community is bucked for, the keys would be the recovery and rebuilding of the highest layer of the system-value system from information dominance groups and the community, which are also the theme and core of the establishment of internal development motivity in rural community in China. The thesis will come to a conclusion that, with a favorable social basis based on its own traditional sources, W village will find a few strategies to develop the dynamic of the community's internal-motivating-development .these concludes:!) to develop the new social capital based on the contractual trust. 2)to recover the work mechanism of the village's people-government based on the sound interaction between the government and rural community. 3)to adjust the government's political action, including its mechanism, and other supporting systems to adapt to the requirement of modernization. And all of these will find their cohesion at the moment when the village's people realize their modernization in their idea and action.
