Traditional instruction of fundamental education stresses too much on accepting, memorizing and drilling. The new round of curccicula reform of fundamental education advocates the students' to participate actively, to explore willingly, to do more hands on work. And also it advocates to facitlitate the students' abilities to collect and deal with information, abilities to analize and solve problems, and the abilities to communicate and cooperate with others. All these will certainly facilitate the change of teachers' instruction and of students' learning. In our opinion, participant instruction is an effective form to implement new curriculum. It is the request of curriculum reform of fundamental education. And it is to meet the need of students' development and also the need of teachers' professional development to do the study of participant instruction. Although it is very important, there is still not much research in this field. So the study of participant instruction has important significance both in theory and pactice. By consulting, comparing, investigating, practicing and so forth, the study has done a lot of systematic research on participant instruction based on the basic ideas of new curriculum and the theory of developmental instruction.This article consists of five parts.Part One, the connotation and characters of participant instruction. Participant instruction is an education practice process in which teachers and students communicate and interact actively and forwardly under a condition of democracy and equally to reach the synonym of cognizing, the synchronization of thinking, the resonance of sentiment and to reach the teaching target effectively. It has the characters of subjectivity, communicational, synonymy and interlocution.Part Two, the basic idea of participant instruction. The basic idea of participant instruction is that to let students be the hosts of learning and that to be for the developing of both students and teachers. The objectives of instruction should be comprehensive and harmonious and be for the development of both teachers and students. The main body of instruction should be interactive. The matter of instruction should be related to students' real life and the difficulty of instruction should be moderate. The way of instruction should be interactive and should attach importance to the process. The management of instruction should be based on humanity. The assessment should be based on the development of students and teachers and attach importance to integration of quantity and quality.Part Three, the basic terms of implementing participant instruction. In the whole process, every student participates in teaching activities actively, including the working-out of teaching plans, the setting down of teaching targets, the carrying through of teaching activities and evaluating, all of which is for the students' individual development. The basic terms of its implementing is to let students be the hosts of their own learning, to change the roles of teachers, to establish the right relationship between students and teachers and to select appropriate teaching matter has.Part Four, the forms of implementing participant instruction. It is usually carried out before, in or after classes, through cooperative teaching or scene teaching. Let students participate in lesson preparation, instruction plan making, listening to others, competion, inquiring, practicing, diary keeping, reflecting, evaluating and so forth.Part Five, the assessment of participant instruction. It acclimates the trend of assessing of the nowadays world. Its assessment has the characters of multi-aspects, developmental and participant. Its assessing criterion is that whether it is propitious to teachers' and students' active participating or not, whether it is propitious to the developing of teachers and students. The content of assessment is knowledge, affection, attitude, view of value, the process of participation, development of students and teachers.
