As the circulator of knowledge and the creator of science,the faculty has been paid more attentions by public.Many countries regarded to establish a high quality faculty's team as a basic factor in building country.To do the research on the role of faculty will help us realize the strategy of "develop country in science and education"and promote the reform of higher education.From the historic variation of faculty,we can know that the meaning of the role of faculty is dynamic and advancing.With the develop of society ,its role became diversity and complicated.lt transform from a teacher to be a researcher and a public serve. Now human beings has entered the 21cn century,knowledge enlarged fast and information technology used wildly,which required higher education cultivate more high quality talent.To meet the requirement of new period,the traditional role of facuty have to transform from the developer of brains to the culturist for students all ability;from the peddler of knowledge to the culturist of students' creative;from the duplicator of talent to the teacher who teach students in accordance of their aptitude;from the culturist of professional to the culturist of generalist.We have to admit that the transform of faculty cann't succeed just by self strive,which also need suitable "climate"and "soil".But there are still many barriers in our social and universities.So ,if we want to promote faculty's transform,we should take more effective measures on the faculty's management,seach for a suitable appoint system and training system according to our situation.The faculty should change the idea of traditional teaching,strengthen professional moral accomplishment and improve professional skills.
