As the importance of primary English teaching is gradually valued by the whole society in recent years, primary English, as compulsory course, is making itself into primary schools. With its further development, to a greater and greater degree experts and teachers are worrying about such problems as those in course design, the inadequacy of teacher resources, the lack of equipments and facilities and etc. However, all these defects would find expression in their influences on primary English teaching method, in this thesis. To the present writer, according to the advanced achievements of task-based language teaching, combining the primary school English educational factors, the study puts forward a new thought of transformation for task-based language teaching: real world task-based language teaching.This paper contains five parts: The first part surveys the trends of English teaching in China and puts forward the research questions, how to make the task-based language teaching effectively used in the primary school English classroom with the consideration of China's real educational factor. The second part analyzes the main problems and the causes in the current teaching situation of primary English teaching. The third part illustrates definitions of tasks and task components, and discusses its relevant theories in task-based language teaching. And then presents the authenticity of English teaching. The fourth part sets out from the current situation of language teaching in primary school, studies real world task -based language teaching from three aspects. First according to the children's characteristics, this paper illustrates the preparation for real-world task designing. Then probes into the classroom procedure of real world task-based language teaching. At last forms a scale of assessment for real world task-based language teaching. The fifth part states that every teaching method has its own advantages. Teachers need not be so devoted to copying one approach and can select and draw from all methods available.
