The teaching of geography in rural middle schools, has been deeply influenced by the old educational idea of examination orientation, which due to students' limitation of the corresponding geographical knowledge and capabilities in their junior high school stage. Moreover, there is little mention of the basic knowledge points in next stage. Therefore, students cannot receive enough gains according to their pains in their high school phrase, which in turn leads to the weakening of their belief of learning interest and self-confidence. After considering several experiments of instructional reform, we hold that the instruction mode of success is one of the best of them. For such an instructional mode, teachers set kinds of problem contexts for their students in their Proximal Development Zones, then help them succeed, make them experience the feeling of success, get. them form positive self-concept. Under this instructional mode, students can achieve the goal of improving their performance, enhance the level of their mental quality, explore their potential in the intelligence factors, .develop their none intelligence factors, foster their creative capabilities, develop and perfect their personalities. Meanwhile, teachers appraise their students positively and appropriately frequently, which turns to be the key source of their motivation in the learning of geography. As attribution is another key none intelligence face which affects students' studies, teacher should help their students form positive attribution. Expectancy from teachers can also motivate their students. Therefore, teachers should make good use of it to enhance the students' self consciousness of success. Though many rural middle schools have presented educational mode of success, there still lie mistakes of this idea of success, one of the biggest mistakes is that the instruction of success is to help students make a good score in test and hence, improve their consciousness of success. This educational idea, in fact, is a definitely false instruction way, instead of educational method of success, which will results to the weakening of students' capability of enduring frustration, and no progress in the qualities needed for their studies at all. A true instructional method of success is one that can help students of every level improve their performance as well as enhance their motivation, form good studying qualities and heighten their capabilities of solving problems and accustoming to the society in long term. The instructional method of success has been proven to be an effective and possible in the teaching of geography among rural middle schools by improving the performance, enhancing the motivation, developing good qualities for studies.
