MOOC has developed for more than2years since2012, which makes much influence in the whole world. Researches on MOOC have been from fanaticism slowly return to rational.Although some scholars have criticized MOOC for its high dropout rate and lacking of learning support services and so on, MOOC still has attracted a large number of learners from all over the world with its good user experience. Good user experience has closely related to instructional mode, so MOOC’s instructional mode still has areas that worthy of study and reference. So far, the literatures about MOOC most focused on the introduction and comments of MOOC, lacking of study of MOOC’s instructional mode from the perspective of empirical. In this study, we try to analyze the five elements of MOOC’s instructional mode from the learner’s perspective and summarize its enlightenment on informatization construction and curriculum reform of universities in china.People first know MOOC through three American typical MOOC platforms-Coursera, Udacity and edX. Then in china people developed MOOC platforms such as China University MOOC and school online that reference to Coursera and edX. The curriculums on the five platforms have different characteristics. Therefore, this study firstly chooses eight courses on the three foreign typical platform as cases, and analysis its five elements of instructional mode which are consists of theoretical foundation, instructional objectives, implementation conditions, instructional procedure and evaluation. Then we choose two courses on two domestic platforms as cases and in comparison with the eight courses, finding out the similarities and differences between the instructional modes. Finally we summarize the enlightenment brought by MOOC’s instructional mode.Through the analysis and comparison study, this paper thinks that the characteristics of MOOC’s instructional mode are the efficient design of teaching function module, personalized presentation of video resources, clear learning path design and the evaluation based on the learning process. The disadvantages of MOOC is its lack of interaction between the teacher and the student and it is go against the cultivation of high level cognitive as well as critical, creative thinking.The good instructional procedure design is partly owes to the advanced teaching theory and design method of the teacher team, so this paper has some opinion about the role orientation of the teachers in Colleges and universities. MOOC is just a technical tool, not a solution program, therefore we cannot expect MOOC itself bring huge change. The Blended teaching pattern that based on MOOC can bring a transformative effect on College and it reveals the learning need diversity of students. So this paper has related discussion on University Blended Instructional Mode based on MOOC and diversity courses. This paper has27charts,17tables and43references.
