| The core of the Quality--Oriented Education aims at (he education of individual differences and individual developments. It calls for respecting each student. To believe any individual can be successful, all can develop. The English New Criterion for the English Course requests "To develop the mental ability and individuality is one of the characters of the English course." Especially, the course stresses on focusing each student's affection, arousing their learning interest and helping them to build up self---confidence.At present all over China and abroad more and more teachers and researchers have already focus their classroom teaching on the student's individual differences But the adoptive relevant methods, which counter the types, have not been perfect yet. They still wait for further inquiry and study.This thesis applies the principles relative to psychology and theories of the foreign language teaching based on the theory of Good and power (1976) individual differences in learner's personalities and their individual cognitive styles. They divided the students mto six types.1.Task---oriented students 2.Phantom Students 3. Social Students 4.Dependent Students5, Isolated Students6. Alienated StudentsThrough many years' teaching practical observation and discovery we decided to study the student's individual differences. The paper chose Class 1, Junior Grade 3 students of Dalian No. 125 Middle School as the objects of the study by questionnaire we summed up another six types of the student's individual differences. Through one year's daily teaching and observing we have got the result. 1 Autonomy learning students 2.Independent thinking students 3 Oral cooperative students 4.Reluctant learning students 5.Looker—on students 6. Low intelligence studentsAt the same time the thesis has studied out six relevant teaching methods, 1. Motivation and ability training method 2.Observation and discovery method 3Situational and silent teaching method 4.Shadow---tracking teaching method 5.Enjoyment teaching method 6. Affective teaching method Meanwhile, the paper analyzed the reason that produces individual differences in details.Finally the thesis indicates the importance of how to deal with the individual differences in the future English teaching. It will provide certain theoretic basis for further studying the appropriate teaching methods. |
