The Current Situation In Teaching Rhythmic Sportive Gymnastics Of College PE Major And The Research On Its Development Strategies

The rhythmic sportive gymnastics has long since played an important role in China's PE teaching. Since the 2008 Olympics Games will be held in Beijing, it has been listed as a part of "Win honor for Olympics Games" and "Nationwide bodybuilding" campaigns. The matter of people's concern is how the colleges of PE, which are supposed to develop the important reserve forces for these two campaigns, speed up the pace of reformation so as to strengthen students' competitive capacity and the ability to adapt to the society when confronting the tremendous social changes and challenges. However, the present situation in teaching rhythmic sportive gymnastics is generally unsatisfactory. Therefore, it is an urgent task to explore its causes and cultivate more professionals in the rhythmic sportive gymnastics for the 2008 Olympics Games.Based on a thorough literature review, this thesis, with the students and teachers in rhythmic sportive gymnastic as subjects of this research, aims at studying its present situation and the factors influencing its teaching, and advances the corresponding strategies to better off the teaching in rhythmic sportive gymnastics. The researcher employs various researching methods such as questionnaire surveys, interviews and data analysis. The conclusions of this research are cited as follows.1. There is a big gap between the current teaching goals as well as content and the actual social demands. The present teaching overlooks students' mastery of practical skills and shows a lack of depth that it deserves to reach. As a result, students' knowledge structure is quite monotonous and they are deficient in applying the skills.2. The current teaching materials in rhythmic sportive gymnastics don't move with the times and are not systematic. There is a serious deficiency in the teaching materials and the colleges don't guarantee sufficient amount of teaching periods to develop students' ability.3. Though the age structure and professional knowledge of the teachers in rhythmic sportive gymnastics are quite satisfactory, the teachers' levels of education are generally low. What's more, they are given inadequate opportunities to receive further education so that the teaching in rhythmic sportive gymnastics sees a great difficulty to be well conducted.4. The major factors affecting the teaching in rhythmic sportive gymnastics are school education, social factors, PE values and so on.
