Newly curriculum reform is an important change in our basic education field. In the reform there was fundamental adaptation from content to style on middle school English teaching. Meanwhile, many foreign educational theories with great influence were introduced in our country. They stimulated inspiration and brought enlightenment to educators who are in the course of exploration. One of them is Successful Intelligence that is created by Sternberg, R.J. . He doubted the traditional intelligence theory in his work by believing that human's intelligence is variable. He advocates treating students' intelligence growth in developing way. According to his theory we can help students improve their analytical abilities, creative abilities and practical abilities by training. With development of the reform educators little by little focus their minds on instruction of learning strategies and training of problem solving abilities on English class in middle school. So the lack existing on numbers of students was exposed gradually. The reason is that although teachers instruct students cognitive strategies on English learning, their instructions are not systematic enough and the instructions of controllable are especially weak.In order to get students into the reflective habit and train them for finding and diagnosing problems, the writer carried out an experimental...
