English Teaching The Theory Of Successful Intelligence

Nowadays, our country is carrying out the education for all-around development, which raises the innovation spirit and the practice ability of the students. As one of the main subjects of basic education, English teaching may cause the students to obtain the language knowledge and the skills through English study and practice. What's more, English teaching makes the students improve the ability of language using, know the world outstanding culture and enhance the humanities accomplishment totally.The successful intelligence is one kind of the intelligence theory which has developed in recent years. It emphasizes on how to improve students' analysis ability, the practice ability and the creation ability. It also lets the students learn to analyze the problems, apply the knowledge to the practice, and have the creation through the practice. Undoubtedly, this is one of the ideal education for all-around development and one of ideal ways for raising the talented people.The article first reviews the intelligence evolution history and the malpractice of traditional intelligence, then puts forward Dr. Robert Steinberg's successful intelligence theory and analyzes three aspects of successful intelligence and its characteristics. At the meanwhile, it also discusses the possibility to use the successful intelligence in the English classroom teaching.After that, the author expatiates her way to improve the students' analyze ability, practice ability and creation ability and the assessment system in her English class teaching according to several years' practice. Finally, the author concludes her experience, and puts forward some points which should be improved and provides the model for the later teaching.As a teacher, we should renew the education ideas, emancipate the mind from time to time to bring up a generation which has good basics, full innovation and exploit sprit.
