Up till now, there are a lot of researches about teaching mode construction. Some are studied from the angle of spirit pursuit, the others in terms of value orientation. I review these researches and find a kind of inevitable" trend in teaching mode construction. That is aesthetic spirit as the final pursuit of teaching mode construction. If the teaching mode construction breaks away from this kind of pursuit, it will extremely slip to the knpwledge orientation, utility orientation. And the mostimportant value of teaching modes-as the life ontology valueof people' s inherent spirit promotion, are covered. So students' individual inherent spirit quality, such as the character of independence, probe, cooperation, creativity, life experience and so on, are neglected to some degree.Spirit, which is a developing concept, will be developed constantly with the advancement of the society. Generally speaking, mankind has gone through three kinds of spirit pursuit: moral spirit, scientific spirit and aesthetic spirit. Aesthetic spirit is the developing necessity of moral spirit and scientific spirit. It expresses the unification of the orderliness character and intention character of man' s labor, and infinitive creativity of mankind as well. Aesthetic spirit is the truest, most virtuous and beautiful, free and liberal spirit realm. In a word, aesthetic spirit is a surmounting spirit, free spirit, joyful spirit and supreme spirit. It can make people reach the satisfactory realm finally.Aesthetic spirit is the essence of teaching mode construction and the merging point of ontology value and toolvalue on teaching mode construction. In the sense, aesthetic spirit is the integration of appraisal yardstick and represents the direction of the teaching modes. Aesthetic spirit can make the teaching modes become perfect. So aesthetic spirit should be constantly pursued in teaching mode construction. This subject, which is aimed at the characteristic of aesthetic spirit and the deviation of traditional teaching modes in value orientation and practice, probes into the problems of teaching mode construction from the angle of promoting human' s spirit (especially in terms of aesthetic spirit). We should use aesthetic spirit to nourish the teaching modes, promote the spiritual kernel of the teaching modes and guide teaching mode construction on the aesthetic way. In this way, teaching modes can radiate life' s vigor constantly.
