This study is based upon the empirical research method. The writer attended seventy lectures in four high schools and two junior middle schools together collecting the language materials. Four lessons were extracted; such phenomena as turn, speech unit functions, types of sentences, and the ways of turn taking were regarded from the quantitative point of view. According to the result of the analysis, namely the statistical data, the writer arrives at the conclusion as follows. Turns, including teacher's turn, students'turn, teacher and students'turn, constitutes classroom discourse. Teacher's turns makes about one half of the total amount of turns. Students'turns is less than the teacher's ones. Teacher and students'turns are the least. The phenomenon of speech unit is presented in the following actions from the teacher's part as narration, asking questions, giving instructions, etc. The students'part is conveyed in discussion, asking questions, answering questions, etc. Speech unit function phenomenon can be found within one turn as well as between them. The phenomenon speech unit functions in one turn can often be found in teacher's turn. The typical pairs of speech unit functions link between turns are asking questions----answering, answering----feeding back. Speech unit functions links can make the conversational situation right and wrong.
