Research in Chemical education has shown that students have various levels have preconceptions and misconceptions about Chemical equilibrium. The concept of Chemical equilibrium has constraint-based features that might prevent students from deeply understanding the mature of the conceptions of Chemical equilibrium. In this study, our obtaining information about students'preconceptions has been throught individualstudents interviews. A two-tier test questionnaire has been use to explore the misconceptions of Chemical equilibrium. The first tier was examined content knowledge and students'understanding of that knowledge in the second. Analyses of the data were done according to the seudents' responses in order to find the types of preconceptions or misconceptions. In order to help students form conceptions of Chemical equilibrium,we experimented with new teaching methods. The students in the treatment group were instructed based on revealing preconceptions and misconceptions, discussing each other, and remediating preconceptions and misconceptions. The following were the main conclusions of this study:1.The preconceptions of Chemical equilibrium occur: Equilibrium, Chemical reactions, Chemical equilibrium.2. Most misconception happened in: dynamic equilibrium, Le Chatelier principle, reaction rate and effect, and chemical reaction equations.3.teaching with revealing preconceptions and misconceptions works better than traditional methods in helping students form scientific conceptions.
