Humanism is of long standing history and well established in the West. As a kind of western tradition, it runs through all the time in the western education and have a extensive and deep impact on western education. After humanistic educational thought is introduced to our country, it also has a great impact on education theory and practice of our country . This paper speaks of the meaning of humanism and described the meaning, that humanistic educational thought, reviewed its development course and explained its main view and theoretical foundation in detail. Finally, this paper pointed out the humanistic educational thought's impact on the basic educational reform in China at present. Explaining its main view can make the reader hold the humanistic educational thought as a whole and clarify some misunderstanding to human-oriented and humanism , absorb its positive factor and promote the educational reform and educational modernization of our country.
