Formation has been the theme of the modern philosophy. As a new direction of modern philosophy research, formative thinking has tremendous influence on our educational research and practice. Under the guidance of formative thinking, we have profound understanding of human beings and education .The life of human beings in nature is a progress of continuous formation, transcendence and sublimation. The formative nature of life determined on the feasibility and rationality of the education. As an activity that connected with human's life and promoted human's quality, education should pay attention to the formative nature of life. Only in this way can we make the students realize the significance of life, create life's value and live happily. However, it is a pity that actual education ignores this.Above all, the author selects this subject: Direct to Formation---Reflection on Contemporary Education in the Angle of Formative Thinking.This thesis includes five parts:Part one: Read Formation. First the paper introduces two kinds of thinking of philosophy and analyzes respective characteristic. Then the author reviews different understandings of formation in western philosophy and suggests that formation has been the theme of the modern philosophy and formative thinking has also been the new direction of philosophy research. At last it explains the characteristic of formative thinking.Part two: This part points out we have new understanding about human being and education under the guidance of formative thinking. Firstly, the essence of human being has changed from abstract to formation. Secondly, formative nature is the essence of the educational process .Thirdly, the changed of knowledge outlook indicates feasibility of formative education. Therefore, education should pay attention to the formative nature of human being and education itself and promote development of individual's life.Part three: Losing of Formative Thinking in Actual Education.
