The new national English Curricular Syllabus recommends the use of task -based language teaching (TBLT) approach in classroom teaching. I have already been trying the TBLT approach in my class. Although there has been a pedagogical shift in foreign learning and teaching, from a more traditional teacher-oriented and knowledge-based approach to a more interactive student-centred and communication-oriented task-based approach. However, there still exist many practical problems and difficulties when the latter approach is put into practice in learning and teaching.In English as foreign language learning and teaching in China, pedagogical difficulties such large class size with teacher-dominated teaching, limited class time and opportunities for practicing the use of the language, public examination pressure and many emotion factors tend to create obstacles for students to learn English effectively in class. As a result, these difficulties constrain genuine needs for students to use the language for communication. Students' confidence in using the language can be hardly built up if they are not given adequate supervision for learning the language to communicate.To pinpoint the learning and teaching problems, which seems so common in many EFL contexts, a "tolerance of ambiguity factor" program has been designed to investigate the possibility to implement task-based language teaching approach in my school. This program has also attempted to provide students with a favorable learning environment conducive to communicative language learning. I found that a lot of students had been puzzled their's brains about tolerance of ambiguity in English learning. The vagueness of English, lacking rightness between English and Chinese are major factors .As one of the emotion factor , Tolerance of ambiguity has the prominent influence in the second language acquisition .The EFL learning is a complicated process, Tolerance of ambiguity can influent students' learning quality and speed.Generally speaking , the excessive tolerance of ambiguity may result in...
