This thesis, based on the ideas of the experts concerned and through practical experiments and theoretical analyses, conducted an investigation and exploration of senior middle school students' application of English writing strategies. The whole thesis is made up of three parts. The first part is about the background of the study and some influential researches in this field both at home and abroad, and about the empirical studies in China. The second part is an investigation of the application of writing strategies of the students at Ninghai Senior Middle School, from which it can be seen that the students are in great need of guidance in learning and using writing strategies. Part Three is an experiment of application and training of writing strategies during the teaching. From the results of the experimental training course, it is reasonably believed that it is necessary to integrate English writing strategy into the teaching of writing at the period of senior middle school education, because it has been proved that the students have benefited from the training. But since I only investigated 536 students and experimented with only 99 students in one school, and also a key school, it needs a further study to prove whether the result is universally acknowledged.
