The education goal of the science education is to cultivate the citizen who has science accomplishment and the nature of science is the important constituent of science accomplishment. To accord with the international scientific education, our country reform in this elementary education curriculum explicitly proposes for the first time to the scientific essential request. By doing this, the student can gradually know the nature of the science and establish the scientific curriculum in the foundation which knew to the nature of the science. Teacher's s view of nature of science can affect teacher's teaching behavior and student's science study, so the important roles and functions of teachers in the classes can not be ignored. Therefore the research on the present situation of junior middle school in-service science teacher's view of nature of science appears to be of practical significance and value in developing the training in junior middle school science teacher in-service and consummating their knowledge structure, reforming the institutions of major curriculum of science educational undergraduate course, enhancing the fusion of contents and HPS in the course for majors, improving the major qualities of teachers in front of duty, and advancing elementary education scientific curriculum reform of our country.By literature research, the author goes deep into the 7-9 experimental zones for the scientific curricula in Wuhan city to survey the junior middle school teachers' concept of nature of science. The aim of this survey is to discover the relationship between middle school scientific teachers' conceptions of the NOS and their sex, length of teaching experience , educational experience, and background of subject they have had. According to the statistics, it can be concluded like this:1. The middle school teachers have lower cognition level on the NOS in three aspects, which include their conception of "the Scientific worldview", "the Scientific inquiry", and "the Scientific enterprise".2. There are no remarkable differences between middle school teachers' conceptions of the NOS and their sex, educational experience, and background of subject they have. had. However, the cognition level of female teacher is a little higher than male; and middle school teachers' conceptions of the NOS increase along with heir length of teaching experience. But this kind of growth is extremely limited; the integrating level of the science teachers' concept of nature of science, which has chemistry discipline background, appears to be higher than the teachers with geography, biology and physics backgrounds.3. There is a remarkable difference with the conception of the NOS between different middle schools' teacher. The cognition level about concept of nature of science in city-level key-point middle schools is obviously higher than that of in the district-level key-point middle schools.Presently, the research on the education of the nature of science still has a big gap between China and foreign countries in both quality and quantity. And the present situation of junior middle school science teachers' conception of the nature of science is also not to be good. For this reason, the author draws some suggestions like that: First, we should renew our educational thinking of science and fully realize educational value of the NOS. We also should consummate the knowledge structure of junior middle school science teacher in-service and strengthen their conception of the nature of science education. Second, we should set up a new course system and create the courses of the NOS in college and university. In addition, we should strengthen the fusion of contents and HPS in the course for majors and improve the major qualities of teachers in front of duty. Third, we also should strengthen fundamental research and practice exploration of the education of nature of science and carry out academic exchange positively.
