Mathematical theorem and rules are all derived from Mathematical concepts which are the cognitive basis for learners. Mathematics educators have always paid much attention to the research of mathematical concept. Representation has now become the central subject of human cognitive process. The international group for the psychology of mathematics education (PME), set up a study group, the group known as representation working group to mainly study mathematics representation in 1989. The team made great achievements, in both the theory and practice of the research results in the 10 years of its existence. Research shows that learners mastering the mathematics concept is a process of psychological representation. Therefore we should study the psychological process of concept representation.That the domestic researchers has not paid much attention to"learning", but been focused on"teaching"in mathematics education research for a long time is not a good phenomenon. So Mr. zheng (yuxin zheng)has pointed out that"the modernization of education theory depends on the in-depth research that is on the psychological activities in the learning process." Indeed, mathematics concept teaching must be based on the psychological laws of learning mathematics concept. Different understanding of the laws will lead to different teaching theories emerged. So to study students′mathematics concept representation is meaningful for both theory and practice.Domestic studies on mathematics representation focused on"problem representation", the author wants to use the achievements of problem representation for reference to carry out some research on mathematical concept representation.
