Villagers' Marriage Life Change Under Village Governance Background

This dissertation is a marriage change in a region of the Jianghan plain of Hubei province. It mainly analyzes peasant's marriage and marital ideal change in respons to the important social transformation during 1949s-2000s.The marriage is men's and women's legitimate unions. The union then produced the result that the relation of husbands and wives that the social system approved to. The country political context influenced the marriage change. Author take the 20th century Li village (力村) in Jianghan plain as an object of study. Using the politics government theory and sociological marital theory. Through the field investigation, the study has inspected the influence of the Li village's government transformation to the villager's marriage.The present study has explored marriage changes form a social and historical background. The focus of the dissertation is on marital responses to macro political and economic change over the last 58 years. As the village's government transformation divided 1949-2000s into three phase, the marriage also divided into three phase. The first phase, described the villagers marriage at traditional system time during the period form founding of the nation first arrival and people's commune disintegration. The second phase, at the background of the economic implements and the change of village government, then causing the marital idea and the marriage changes. The third phase, under the background of country transformation to the agricultural policy and the changes of village politics function in the 21st century, it analyzes the reason and the influence which the new marital form marries this kind of produces to. Although the social system has had three time changes in 58 years, basic change were only two kinds, the traditional system time and reform time. During the widespread and also penetrated historical period which the marriage presents has Transformed in the society ?1.The marriage changes. In traditional system period , through the establishment marriage registration system the government directly concluded the process of marriage involvement .Because the government could draw the support from the collective economic organization to implement the comprehensive management to the populace, villagers' marriage displaying very strong collective characteristics. In reform time, Because of the influence which the country macroscopic political reform and the economic system transformed, villagers' marriage have had very big changes. Mainly performing for the idea of villagers' marriage change.2.The villagers' marriage changes.
