Reading is a complex intellectual process of obtaining information from written texts and a psychological process of gaining meanings from the text as well. Reading is also the most important purpose and means of language learning . In latest years, with the development of NMET ,the level of the students'reading comprehension is faced with a big chanllege . and reading teaching has been receiving much attention . How to improve the students'reading ability is one of the issues that most teachers have been discussing recently. Teachers and researchers have accomplished a lot of achievements and invented many valuable approaches to improve the students'reading abilities. however , there are some problems in our reading classes. In the research , most students think what they have to do in reading class is just memorizing words and language points, clarifying the grammatical structure of every sentence in the reading material.As a result of the wrong understanding of the reading purpose , teachers have explained masses of reading materials and the students have also read a lot outside the class , their reading ability is no better than what they used to be and their reading proficiency has not been improved yet .The teaching results and the learning results are far from saticfactory .Some teachers owe the phenomenon that students cannot read correctly and quickly to the limited mastery of language points or to the explicit explanation in teachingHow to change the present situation and improve the students'ability ?The researchers pay much more attention to the reading strategies.Thus the research on reading strategies is of great importance in language learning and teaching .The author attempts to find out the difference in reading strategies among the different level students after they have finished their reading skills training,The study attempts to answer the following questions:1 What is the problem in reading comprehension?2 How is the effectiveness of reading skills training related to the reading proficiency of the students?3 What's the relation between the effective reading skills and the reading level?4 Which kinds of reading comprehension are affected by reading skill training ?This thesis is composed of the following six chapters:Chapter one: An introduction, giving a brief account of the reasons why this research was done and points out the necessity and validity of carrying out this present research .Chapter two: Illustrates what reading and the reading comprehension process .Chapter three: The applying of the theories and the strateties related to the present research .Chapter four : Focus on use of reading strategies .Chapter five : Focus on the course of present study. The author introduces the subjects , the procedures, the materials and the results of the study.Chapter six: Conclusions and some advice on how to improve students'reading ability further as well as some advice on the research in this field.
