On The Softpower Of Modern College Students And Its Development

The 21st century is an era of knowledge economy as well as an era of gradually fierce competition, in which"soft qualifications"of college students have become the indispensable factor for them to fulfill the individual value and to serve the society. Its fundamental contents mainly refer to the personal quality of culture and psychology, glamour of personality, level of morality standard and the appeal or the influence on the others. Compared to"hard qualifications"relatively,"Soft qualifications"belong to a kind of power which is sensible, potential and invisible and put focus on the word"soft", which has such great characteristics as expansion, conduction and mouldability, and it chiefly includes personal views on honesty and trust, the capability of communication and negotiation, the virtue of integrity, the virtue of diligence and the ability to handle the frustration. What these"soft qualifications"function is indirect in that they change the consequences of the competition by means of influencing the elaboration of"the hard qualifications"and then even the thoughts and the psychology of both sides instead of embodying on the achievements of the work constantly. Actually college students put great emphasis on such"hard qualifications"as diplomas, techniques and certificates and ignore the cultivation of"soft qualifications", which results in the lack of honesty and trust, fake and cheating; incapability of communication and negotiation, the eccentric personality; the lack of integrity, egotism; less focus on virtues of diligence, the domination of people over work; the low capability of handling frustrations, proneness to be pessimistic. The main reasons for these problems are: college students are of out-of-date ideas and don't put focus on developing their own thoughts; the negative conditions of the social development make an influence on the growing processes of college students; disadvantages of traditional education system restrict the education on the ideology of college students; the abnormal family education hinders the improvement of the moral ethics of college students. The solutions to these problems are listed as follows: college students should raise their self-accomplishments by means of changing the ideas, keeping up with times and mobilizing the subjective enthusiasm; virtues and mottoes of teachers should be deepened to ram the basis for college students to raise"soft qualifications"; education system should be bettered to provide the basic guarantee for college students to raise"soft qualifications"; the construction of campus should be reinforced to create a wonderful environment for college students to raise of"soft qualifications". In conclusion, it is urgent to improve"soft qualifications"of college students and the society as a whole should work heart and soul to provide the wonderful special environment for the overall development of our country's talents.
