This study is sought to examine the adjustment problems that the students from Taiwan encountered in Mainland China. The questionnaire survey reaserch method was used in the study. Two universities with the students who come from Taiwan in GuangZhou and TianJin provinces were selected by snowball sampling, and 92 valid samples were collected with a self-administrated questionnaire. The method used to analyze the data were percentage, average value, standard deviation, t-test, One-way ANOVA, Pearson's product-moment correlation. The major findings of this study were as follows:1. The subject's most important motivation of going to Mainland China for study is the "family factor", others are "the oppotunity of chosing an idea major", and "the lower cost of study". The students, who seen "the lower cost of studying" as the major motivation, faced the higher frequency of life stress. "The Oppotunity of chosing an idea major" is a valid factor to explain the life adjustment.2. The higher level of stress of the subject was examined, the worse forms of adjustment were found. Except in cultural, social and behavioral aspects, the subject's general life adjustment is roughly well. The worst item of subject's adjustment is" the work custom and the procedure of people in Mainland". Life stress was a predictable variable of adjustment of the subject.3. There is the obvious correlation between the subject' s objective, subjective life stress and mental, general adjustment. The subject was found in last six months that their major stress was school events.4. Most command coping strategy of subject was logic thinking and positive emotion. When more positive coping strategies were used by the subject, a better level of adjustment was detected. Coping was the predictable variables of adjustment of the subject.Based on the finding of the study, related suggestions for further study to educators and researchers were recommended.
