Objective:With the improvement of economic level and medical status, people now pay more attention to healthy ideas and adolescent healthy status. The purpose of this research is that by studying the health status of students in SuZhou urban districts, we can work better for students'health.Research Content and Methods:By cluster sampling survey, we collected data of 14479 students from middle schools and high schools in SuZhou urban districts. All of them, 6707 students (3504 for males, 3203 for females) are from middle school; and 7772 students (4092 for males, 3680 for females) are from high schools. We monitored some indicators for all students such as height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, eyesight and dental caries. According to the guideline for the monitor and research of Chinese students'health in 2000 and Technical Standard for prevent and control of normal diseases of Chinese students, all indicators are monitored. After data were collected and analyzed, we compared them to 2001's, and find some healthy problems of students in SuZhou. Results:In 2006 in SuZhou urban district, the total prevalent rate of malnutrition we found from our research was 17.63%, the rate of overweight was 11.68%, obesity was 4.30%, hypertention was 9.56%, dental caries was 14.43% and myopia was 73.14%.Compared to the data in 2001, the rate of malnutrition in 2006 was reduced about 5.7%. Overweight and obesity was decreased about 2.3% and 7.64%. myopia was increased about 7.63%, hypertention was decreased about 15.83%, and dental caries was decreased about 10.3%.Conclusion:In SuZhou urban district, students with myopia are younger, and the trend of myopia is upward yearly. Compared to the data in 2001, the total prevalent rate of malnutrition, hypertention and decayed tooth trend to be downward, but that is not enough. We should put more stress on health education, develop a good living and study habit, and encourage the whole of society to improve the health status of students in Suzhou.
